Florent Ibenge has signed the contract with the Renaissance Sportive de Berkane. So, in less than a week of being sacked, he has already got his new job. He has signed with the Moroccan team. It was officially announced on Monday.
The contract will last two years, so he will earn about 50,000 US dollars a month. Jean Florent Ibenge replaces Juan Pedro Benali. The latter was sacked on 23 June, three months after his appointment, following the poor results of the Orange team for which they were responsible.
By hiring Florent Ibenge, RS Berkane wishes to have a new start. Thus, wishing a rebirth full of success and with trophies. Lately, this team had fallen a lot. Berkane was only in 5th place with 33 points in the championship. The orange team can still go for the podium which is eleven points away with a third place qualifying for the next one. Pipe of the co-federation currently occupied by AS FAR which has 44 points, so it is something that will be complicated. There are only fifteen points left to take before the end of the championship.
Nine years with AS Vita Club
In the DRC, Florent Ibenge coached for nine years at AS Vita Club. With this team, he won two DRC championship titles (2015 and 2018) and played in two African Cup finals (lost successively to Entente Setifienne of Algeria in 2014, for the Champions League, and to Raja of Casablanca in 2018, for the CAF Cup).
Florent Ibenge also coached the DRC’s senior and junior teams between 2014 and 2019. With the Leopards A’, he won the 2016 African Nations Championship (CHAN) in Rwanda. In Equatorial Guinea, he won the bronze medal with the senior team.
As for Florent, he will change working atmosphere, after 9 years of experience at AS Vita club of the DRC.
