Aston Villa eye Endrick loan as Real Madrid consider wage help

Aston Villa have expressed interest in signing Endrick on loan from Real Madrid. The 20-year-old Brazilian forward is considering a temporary move away from the Spanish capital to secure more playing time.

Endrick is looking for a specific profile in his next club. He wants to play in the Champions League and occupy the starting number nine position. Aston Villa and Roma are the clubs identified as being able to meet these requirements. This follows a productive loan spell at Lyon last season, where he recorded eight goals and seven assists in 21 appearances. That regular football was instrumental in his selection for the World Cup.

Competition for places at Real Madrid has limited Endrick's opportunities. He currently sits third in the centre-forward queue behind Kylian Mbappé and Carlos Espí. Manager José Mourinho views him as a centre-forward, but the player does not fit the specific profile Mourinho requires for that role. Even if he moves to the right, he faces competition from Diomande, Brahim Díaz, Bernardo Silva, and the returning Rodrygo.

Real Madrid are motivated to find a loan solution to protect their significant financial investment. The club paid an initial €35m to Palmeiras with an additional €25m in bonuses. When including commissions and wages, the total expenditure on the player is nearly €80m. To facilitate a move, Madrid may be willing to cover a portion of his wages, which currently exceed €5m net per season.

While Roma remains a competitor for his signature, the conditions for a deal with Aston Villa are increasingly aligned. The player is open to a loan, the Spanish club wants him to play regularly, and Villa can provide the competitive level and starting role he desires.
