Billy Proctor ruled out of All Blacks tour with shoulder injury

New Zealand centre Billy Proctor has been ruled out of the remainder of the All Blacks tour. The 27-year-old suffered a fractured shoulder blade during the 38-21 win over the Stormers at Cape Town Stadium on Friday night.

Proctor is expected to be unavailable for selection for a period of 10 to 12 weeks. While the injury requires a significant recovery period, he will not undergo surgery. The squad has not yet announced who will replace the centre in the touring party.

This injury marks the second setback for the All Blacks during this tour. Hooker George Bell was ruled out last Monday after sustaining an injury during a training session. Bell's absence resulted in the call-up of Bradley Slater to the squad.

Coach Dave Rennie may consider calling up flyhalf Richie Mo’unga to the team. Mo’unga is eligible for selection again after making two appearances for Canterbury in the NPC. This follows his return to New Zealand from Japan.

The All Blacks must now prepare for their upcoming fixtures in South Africa. They are scheduled to play the Sharks at Kings Park on Tuesday. Their tour continues on Saturday when they take on the Vodacom Bulls at Loftus Versfeld.
