Brandon Petersen impressed by Langelihle Phili's quick adaptation

Kaizer Chiefs captain Brandon Petersen has commented on the rapid integration of new signing Langelihle Phili at the club. The 21-year-old joined the Naturena-based side at the start of the week following a long-term move from Stellenbosch.

Phili arrives at Chiefs after spending three seasons with Stellenbosch, where he finished as their top scorer last term. He represents the fifth addition to the Kaizer Chiefs squad during the current season.

Speaking during the MTN8 launch on Wednesday, Petersen noted that he has observed Phili during training sessions. The goalkeeper stated that the youngster has settled into the environment much faster than is typical for new players, particularly those of a younger age.

Petersen suggested that Phili's ability to step onto the pitch without needing constant motivation or encouragement is a positive indicator for the team. He added that the player's seamless transition gives him confidence that the new arrival will be ready to perform his duties quickly.

The presence of former national U20 teammates within the current Chiefs squad may have assisted the transition process. Petersen noted that these existing connections likely played a significant role in helping Phili adjust to the new club.

Finally, the captain highlighted Phili's self-belief as a key factor in his early progress. Petersen observed that the player appears to back his own abilities despite the high expectations and scrutiny that come with playing for Kaizer Chiefs.
