Brandon Stone sits one shot off lead at Danish Golf Championship

South African Brandon Stone is one stroke behind the leader at the Danish Golf Championship. The Rustenburg native carded a six-under-par 66 at Great Northern to sit just behind Mory, while tying with local player Lucas Bjerregaard.

Mory holds the solo lead at seven under par after recording a course-record 65. The Frenchman matched his career-best score for a single round, a mark he also achieved during the third round of his previous appearance at the ISCO Championship. Despite missing 12 of his 16 cuts this season, Mory has made three of his last five cuts. He noted that while the transition to the DP World Tour has been difficult due to the course difficulty and different atmosphere, he is finding his rhythm with his caddie and equipment.

Mory's round included stellar iron play on the first, third, and sixth holes to secure birdies. After recording consecutive bogeys on the back nine, he recovered with a birdie on the 16th and an eagle on the 17th. Stone's round featured four birdies and two bogeys before a late surge. He birdied the 15th and 16th holes and finished with an eagle on the final hole, a performance he attributed to using an old putter.

Lucas Bjerregaard also sits at seven under par. The two-time DP World Tour winner, who currently holds limited status, moved up the leaderboard with an up-and-down on the 11th and an eagle on the 17th. Although he three-putted the 18th, his strong driving and iron play kept him level with the leaders. Bjerregaard mentioned that he felt less pressure during this tournament compared to earlier in his career.

Other notable performances included a bogey-free 67 from Ding and an eagle on the 17th from Celli. A group of eight players, including Bubba Watson, Bernd Wiesberger, and 2015 winner David Horsey, sit at four under par.
