Celtic eye Brommapojkarna goalkeeper Leo Cavallius

Celtic have identified IF Brommapojkarna goalkeeper Leo Cavallius as a primary target to bolster their squad. The 21-year-old is being sought by Martin O'Neill's side as the club continues its search for a new number one following the retirement of Kasper Schmeichel.

Competition for the Swedish player is expected to be significant. Italian side Parma is also interested in the goalkeeper, particularly as they look to replace Zion Suzuki, who is moving to Paris Saint-Germain. While Celtic face a difficult race against the Serie A club, both teams are reportedly ready to submit bids for the player.

Cavallius's recent form has seen a decline in defensive statistics. During his debut season last year, he recorded five clean sheets and conceded 18 goals across 14 appearances. In his current campaign, he has kept only one clean sheet and has conceded 26 goals in 16 matches.

Despite these recent numbers, the goalkeeper remains a sought-after prospect in Europe. He is currently under contract with Brommapojkarna until December 2028. While the Swedish club has not officially named a transfer fee, his market value is estimated at €5m.

Celtic appear to have shifted their focus away from UD Las Palmas goalkeeper Dinko Horkaš. Although the Spanish club's president indicated Horkaš could be sold for €5m, Celtic have not taken the required steps to finalize a move for him. The club is now prioritizing the pursuit of Cavallius instead.
