Chukwueze earns 8.3 rating in AC Milan’s 2-1 Serie A win over Torino

Samuel Chukwueze earned an 8.3 rating and was named man of the match after helping AC Milan open their 2026/27 Serie A season with a 2-1 victory over Torino. The Nigeria international created four chances and assisted Adrien Rabiot’s goal in an influential display from his new right wing-back position.

Chukwueze started brightly and tested Torino goalkeeper Diego Mascardi after cutting through the defence with a mazy run. His effort was kept out, while Alphadjo Cisse also came close for Milan before the opening half ended without a goal.

Milan’s breakthrough arrived in the 64th minute. Rabiot sent the ball to Cisse, who finished to give the visitors the lead. Three minutes later, Chukwueze delivered a dangerous cross into the area and Rabiot headed in Milan’s second goal.

Che Adams reduced the deficit with a late strike, giving Torino an opportunity to draw level. Milan survived the closing pressure to secure three points and make a winning start under Ruben Amorim, who took charge after previously managing Manchester United.

The performance continued Chukwueze’s progress in the unfamiliar role. He had already operated effectively as a right wing-back during Milan’s 4-2 pre-season win against Manchester United, and he again completed the full match against Torino.

The 27-year-old also recorded the joint-highest number of touches in the opposition penalty area and won three of his five ground duels. His four chances created were the most by any player in the match, adding substance to the assist that helped Milan protect their perfect opening record.

Milan have begun their pursuit of a first Serie A title since 2021/22 with three points. Chukwueze returned to the club this summer after spending the previous campaign on loan at Fulham and will next target another strong performance when Milan face Venezia on Friday.
