Olisa Ndah in advanced talks over Libya move after PSL exit

Olisa Ndah is in advanced discussions with a Libyan club as the former Orlando Pirates and Stellenbosch FC defender considers moving to North Africa. The 28-year-old Nigeria international is also attracting interest from other clubs in Libya, while Mamelodi Sundowns have been linked with him in recent weeks.

A move would bring Ndah’s five-year spell in South Africa to an end. He arrived in the country in 2021 after joining Orlando Pirates from Akwa United, where he had been part of an NPFL title-winning side.

Ndah established himself as one of the leading defenders in South African football during his time with Pirates. He won four MTN8 trophies and three Nedbank Cups before leaving the club for Stellenbosch FC last season.

His stay at Stellenbosch lasted only for the duration of a short-term agreement. The defender has since become a free agent, allowing him to consider several options across the continent. Discussions with one Libyan club have progressed further than those with the other interested parties.

Ndah had previously been considered for a move to Al Shomooa before joining Stellenbosch. Libya has since become an increasingly attractive destination for established African players, with South Africa forward Fagrie Lakay joining Al Ittihad Tripoli last week.

The potential transfer would give Ndah a new league after his development and trophy success in South Africa. No agreement has been confirmed, but the advanced talks place a Libyan move among the strongest possibilities for the defender’s next step.
