Daniel-Kofi Kyereh nears move to VfL Osnabruck

Ghanaian attacking midfielder Daniel-Kofi Kyereh is close to completing a transfer to VfL Osnabruck. The move to the German second-tier side is expected to be finalized at the start of next week.

Kyereh will join the club as a free agent. His previous contract with Bundesliga outfit SC Freiburg expired on 30 June 2026.

The 30-year-old international is seeking to return to consistent competitive play. He has faced a long period of inactivity following a serious cruciate ligament injury sustained in February 2023. After more than three years away from the pitch, the midfielder only returned to official match action in April 2026.

A key element of the potential transfer is the connection between Kyereh and Osnabruck head coach Timo Schultz. The two previously worked together at FC St. Pauli. It was during that period that Kyereh established himself as a prominent attacking player in the second division.

This move provides Kyereh with a familiar setting to rebuild his form. The transition to Osnabruck follows a period where his career progress was interrupted by his lengthy injury layoff.
