Dobson shares Stormers insights with Springboks ahead of All Blacks series

Stormers director of rugby John Dobson says feedback from their match against the All Blacks will assist the Springboks in their upcoming four-Test series.

Stormers director of rugby John Dobson believes sharing observations from his team's recent match against the All Blacks will help the Springboks prepare for their upcoming four-Test series. The All Blacks secured a 38-21 victory over the Stormers at the DHL Stadium, despite the sides being tied at 14-14 before a late scoring surge from the visitors.

Dobson confirmed that discussions have already taken place between the Stormers and the Springboks' coaching staff, including head coach Rassie Erasmus. These conversations are part of an effort to align South African United Rugby Championship teams with the national side. Dobson noted that the Springboks provided useful pointers during the week that helped the Stormers' preparations for Friday's encounter.

The Stormers director intends to provide further feedback regarding their experience against the New Zealand side. He described the initial exchange of ideas as a productive process that felt different from previous interactions. Dobson indicated that the Springboks expressed interest in the specific observations made by the Stormers coaching staff.

The upcoming series between the Springboks and the All Blacks includes three matches in South Africa. These fixtures will be held in Cape Town and twice in Johannesburg. The final Test of the series is scheduled to take place in Baltimore on September 12.

While the Stormers look toward future alignments, the All Blacks continue their tour with a match against the Sharks in Durban this Tuesday.
