Frank Warren argues against delaying Fury versus Joshua fight

Frank Warren believes there is no reason to postpone the heavyweight fight between Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua beyond November. The Queensberry promoter argues that both men have sufficient time to recover before they begin their training camps in early September.

Warren dismissed concerns regarding Anthony Joshua's readiness following his recent bout against Kristian Prenga. Although Joshua was dropped by Prenga last month, he managed to secure a stoppage victory the following night. Warren noted that Joshua has already competed twice this year and suggested that pushing the fight into 2027 would offer no real advantage.

The promoter also highlighted the physical risks of delay, noting that both Joshua and Tyson Fury will continue to age if the match is not held soon. He suggested that without a fight, Joshua would simply spend his time in continuous training cycles.

Regarding the technical matchup, Warren suggested that Joshua's recent vulnerability could benefit Fury. He stated that if Tyson Fury had been the one in the ring during the Prenga fight, the result would have been different following the knockdown of Joshua.

Tyson Fury is currently spending time with his family on the Isle of Man. He previously stopped Mariusz Wach on July 24 and intends to start serious preparations once a formal date is established.

The specific location for the contest is not yet confirmed. While Madison Square Garden has been mentioned as a potential venue, Joshua and Eddie Hearn have expressed a preference for hosting the event in Britain. Turki Alalshikh is expected to provide the official announcement regarding the date and the venue.
