Frank Warren expects Daniel Dubois rematch announcement next week

Promoter Frank Warren says an official date for the Daniel Dubois and Fabio Wardley heavyweight rematch should be announced within the next two weeks.

Promoter Frank Warren has indicated that an official announcement regarding the heavyweight rematch between Daniel Dubois and Fabio Wardley is imminent. He expects the date for the bout to be revealed either next week or the week after.

Dubois has been out of action since May 9, when he retained his WBO heavyweight title at Manchester’s Co-op Live Arena. During that encounter, Dubois secured a stoppage victory against Wardley in the 11th round.

Warren stated that Dubois is currently in a good position and has been maintaining his fitness. According to the promoter, the fighter is eager to return to the ring. The rematch follows the activation of a clause by Wardley's team, which occurred approximately two weeks after their initial fight.

Both camps are currently finalizing the logistical details required to make the event official. Warren noted that there was little hesitation from the challenger's side to pursue the second meeting.

Wardley enters the rematch looking to recover from the first professional defeat of his career. In their previous meeting, Dubois was able to exploit tactical issues in Wardley's performance, specifically his reliance on power shots and a lack of consistent use of his jab.

Wardley will now prepare for the rematch without a preparatory fight to test any technical adjustments made during his training camp.
