HACO Industries pledges Ksh 2.5 million to Kenya Simbas
Amara Essentials brand under HACO Industries has renewed its sponsorship of the national men's rugby 15s team with a Ksh 2.5 million commitment.
HACO Industries has announced a renewed sponsorship deal worth Ksh 2.5 million for the Kenya national men’s rugby 15s team, the Simbas. The funding comes through the company's skincare brand, Amara Essentials.
Marketing director Catherine Obwino revealed the details at the HACO Industries headquarters in Kasarani. She noted that the company aims to strengthen its existing relationship with the Kenya Rugby Union (KRU) and grow closer to the players, the fans, and the wider rugby community.
This new financial commitment represents an increase from the Ksh 1.5 million sponsorship package provided in August 2024, which also featured gift hampers for the squad. Obwino stated that the partnership aligns the values of the Amara brand—strength, resilience, confidence, and African pride—with the demands placed on rugby players.
KRU CEO Thomas Odundo noted that the collaboration has provided benefits beyond direct financial support. He highlighted how the brand has engaged with fans during sporting events, including its presence at the Prinsloo 7s in Nakuru and the Dala 7s in Kisumu during the National Sevens Circuit.
The Simbas are currently preparing for upcoming fixtures, including the annual Elgon Cup against Uganda and several test matches. The sponsorship arrives as the team begins its training and competitive schedule for the year.
