Hwange Colliery Stadium to host Dynamos and Highlanders in cup ties
The Zimbabwe Football Association has reshuffled Munhumutapa Challenge Cup fixtures, bringing Dynamos and Highlanders to Hwange this weekend.
The Zimbabwe Football Association has updated the Munhumutapa Challenge Cup Round of 32 schedule, resulting in several fixture changes for Pacific Breeze Southern Region Soccer League clubs. Hwange Colliery Stadium will host two major matches this weekend as Dynamos and Highlanders begin their knockout campaigns.
Dynamos are scheduled to play Hwange on Saturday at 3pm at the Colliery Stadium. The Harare-based side will rely on captain Shadreck Nyawa to help them avoid an early exit from the competition. Highlanders will follow the following day, facing Blackrock at the same venue on Sunday at 3pm.
Highlanders will look to the form of Mongameli Tshuma, alongside the leadership of Darlington Munkuli, Rainsome Pavari, and Andrew Mbeba. The squad will also depend on goalkeeper Aaron Ngwenya and the creativity of Kudakwashe Mahachi to secure a spot in the last 16.
Other rescheduled matches include Jordan versus Gwanda Pirates, which will now take place on Saturday at 3pm at Phelandaba Stadium in Gwanda. Bulawayo's Aqua Stars have also seen their schedule change and will host Chilli FC at Luveve Stadium on Monday at 3pm.
The full weekend programme includes FC Oden against Scottland FC at Baobab Stadium, Bulawayo Chiefs versus Agama FC at Luveve Stadium, and Marere FC against FC Platinum at Chahwanda Stadium. All these matches are set for a 3pm kick-off. Additionally, MWOS U19 will face Chatidhege FC at MWOS Ngoni Stadium at 11am, while MWOS FC meets Herentals at the same venue at 3pm.
Further knockout fixtures feature ZPC Kariba against Triangle FC at Nyamhunga Stadium, Simba Bhora against Manica Diamonds at Wadzanai Stadium, and Norton Big Boys against FC Hunters at MWOS Ngoni Stadium. TelOne FC will play Blanket Mine FC at Ascot Stadium, and Chicken Inn FC will face Ngezi Platinum FC at Luveve Stadium, with all matches starting at 3pm.
