Jairzinho Rozenstruik signs with PFL after UFC departure

Former UFC heavyweight contender Jairzinho Rozenstruik has signed with the Professional Fighters League (PFL). The 38-year-old Surinamese fighter joins the promotion's heavyweight division after a period competing in boxing.

Rozenstruik left the UFC in February 2025. His departure followed a unanimous-decision loss to Sergei Pavlovich at UFC Fight Night: Adesanya vs. Imavov in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The UFC released the heavyweight two days after that contest.

During his six-year tenure with the UFC, Rozenstruik headlined six events. His main-event bouts included matches against Francis Ngannou, Ciryl Gane, Alistair Overeem, Augusto Sakai, Jailton Almeida, and Shamil Gaziev. He finished his UFC career with a record of 9-6 across 15 appearances. His most notable victories included a fourth-round TKO of Shamil Gaziev in March 2024 and a late stoppage of Alistair Overeem in December 2019.

Rozenstruik holds a total MMA record of 15-6, with 13 of his 15 wins coming via knockout. Since leaving the UFC, he competed twice in the Dirty Boxing Championship. He won the inaugural DBX heavyweight title by stopping Victor Cardoso in June 2025 and defeating Rakim Cleveland via TKO in August.

Details regarding Rozenstruik's PFL debut remain unconfirmed. It is not yet known if he will participate in the promotion's regular heavyweight format or compete in a standalone bout, nor has an opponent or date been announced.
