Kaizer Chiefs secure winger Faiz Abrahams on loan from Stellenbosch

Kaizer Chiefs have confirmed the acquisition of winger Faiz Abrahams from Stellenbosch. The 21-year-old joins the club on a season-long loan deal that includes an option to purchase the player.

Abrahams is an iKamva Academy product who began his professional journey at Cape Town Spurs. His recent career includes a loan spell in Israel and a period at Stellenbosch. He was also a member of the South Africa U20 squad that secured the Africa Cup of Nations title.

The winger's arrival follows several other recent moves for the club. He joins Langelihle Phili and Thabo Moloisane, both of whom moved from the Cape Winelands to Naturena this window. Additionally, the club has acquired Relando Leaner from Sekhukhune United and Adolf Bitegeko from Azam.

Before joining Chiefs, Abrahams was linked to other clubs. A move to Durban City did not happen because personal terms were not reached. A potential swap deal involving Orlando Pirates also failed to materialize. That proposed arrangement would have seen Abrahams and goalkeeper Dion Boom move to the Pirates, while Kabelo Dlamini was a possible part of the exchange.

This fifth signing provides head coach Fernando da Cruz with more attacking options. The move represents the latest addition to the squad during the current transfer period.
