Khabib Nurmagomedov identifies Ronaldo and Muhammad Ali as heroes

Former UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov has named Brazilian footballer Ronaldo and boxer Muhammad Ali as his primary sporting inspirations.

Former UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov has identified the athletes who most inspired his sporting career. In a video for Khann Journey on Instagram, the Dagestani fighter named Brazilian footballer Ronaldo and boxer Muhammad Ali as his two primary inspirations.

Nurmagomedov, who retired with an undefeated professional record of 29-0, often attributes his success to the training methods and guidance of his father, Abdulmanap Nurmagomedov. The former champion retired at the age of 32 following the death of his father. He has since transitioned into coaching, helping Islam Makhachev win both lightweight and welterweight titles and working to elevate his cousin, Usman Nurmagomedov.

While his father remains his central influence, Nurmagomedov noted his interest in soccer and boxing during his development. He highlighted the impact of Ronaldo and Ali as specific examples of athletes he aspired to emulate.

Beyond discussing his inspirations, Nurmagomedov offered advice to the public regarding social media consumption. He suggested that people spend significantly less time on their mobile phones to focus more on their personal lives and goals.

He noted that many individuals spend between six and eight hours a day on their devices. Nurmagomedov advised limiting this usage to no more than one hour to avoid what he described as a major global problem.
