Kofi Fosuhene Asare scores as Ettan Sodra leaders lose 2-1

Kofi Fosuhene Asare scored for Trelleborgs FF, but league leaders lost 2-1 at FC Trollhattan in Sweden’s Ettan Sodra.

Kofi Fosuhene Asare scored for Trelleborgs FF, but FC Trollhattan secured a 2-1 home win in Sweden’s Ettan Sodra with a late goal. The defeat left Trelleborg empty-handed despite the Swedish-Ghanaian forward’s second-half impact.

The match was goalless at half-time before Trollhattan took control of the scoreline three minutes after the restart. Daniele Burubwa put the hosts ahead in the 48th minute, giving Trelleborg an early setback in the second half.

Asare was brought on after the interval and quickly helped change the contest. He equalised in the 59th minute, converting a pass from Johan Brannefalk to bring Trelleborg level.

The forward’s goal gave the visitors renewed momentum and kept the league leaders in contention for a positive result. With the score tied, the final stages remained open as Trelleborg looked to complete their recovery.

Trollhattan, however, produced the decisive moment in the 89th minute. Wilmer Henriksson restored the home side’s lead after receiving the ball from Melwin Berg, leaving Trelleborg without a point.

Trelleborg remain at the top of the Ettan Sodra table with 36 points despite the loss. Trollhattan’s victory lifted them to 11th place on 22 points, while Asare’s goal provided the main individual positive for the defeated leaders.
