Black Princesses face Ślęza Wrocław in U-20 World Cup warm-up

Ghana’s Black Princesses will begin their final preparations for the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup with a friendly against Ślęza Wrocław on Tuesday at 14:00 GMT. The match will be played behind closed doors at Stadion Sportowy Oławka in Wrocław.

The fixture is the first of Ghana’s planned warm-up matches in Poland as head coach Charles Sampson continues to shape his squad for the global tournament. Ślęza compete in the Orlen Ekstraliga Kobiet, Poland’s highest division, giving Ghana a test against established top-flight opposition.

Sampson will use the game to assess his players and improve the team’s understanding before the World Cup begins. The match also provides an opportunity to refine Ghana’s tactical approach and strengthen cohesion within the squad.

Ghana are set to make their eighth successive appearance at the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup. Despite their regular presence at the tournament, the Black Princesses have never reached the knockout stage and will be seeking to change that record in this campaign.

Their Group C programme begins against Ecuador on September 6. South Korea will be Ghana’s second opponent three days later, before the group phase concludes against France on September 12. All three matches are scheduled for Arena Sosnowiec.
