Manchester United decline interest in Chelsea forward Liam Delap

Manchester United have decided not to pursue a move for Chelsea striker Liam Delap despite the 23-year-old being available for transfer this summer.

Manchester United have rejected the opportunity to sign Chelsea forward Liam Delap. The 23-year-old is available for transfer following a difficult first season at Stamford Bridge, where he scored only two goals in 41 appearances.

Chelsea head coach Xabi Alonso has approved the departure of the striker. While Delap's representatives have contacted various Premier League sides, Manchester United have decided not to pursue the player at this time. The club had previously attempted to sign the former Ipswich Town forward last summer before he chose to join Chelsea.

Everton, Newcastle United, and Leeds United are the clubs currently considering a deal for the centre-forward. Everton are reportedly leading the pursuit under manager David Moyes, who is an admirer of the player. Chelsea have placed a valuation of approximately £35 million on Delap.

Manchester United have already completed several signings under Michael Carrick, including Karl Darlow, Youri Tielemans, and Andrey Santos. The club is currently looking to add a left-back and a striker to support Benjamin Sesko, especially as Joshua Zirkzee is expected to depart before the transfer window closes.

Although United and Everton were close to securing the player 12 months ago, they are not expected to enter the race for his services this summer.
