Ghanaian clubs Medeama SC and Nations FC have been assigned their opponents for the preliminary stages of the 2026/27 CAF inter-club competitions. The draw took place on Thursday at the Confederation of African Football headquarters in Cairo, Egypt.
Premier League champions Medeama SC will compete in the TotalEnergies CAF Champions League. They face TP Mazembe in the first round. The Tarkwa-based side is scheduled to host the first leg at the TnA Stadium before traveling to the Democratic Republic of Congo for the second leg.
If Medeama advances past the Congolese side, they will move into the second preliminary round. Their next opponent in that stage will be the winner of the tie between Club Africain of Tunisia and Djoliba AC of Mali.
In the TotalEnergies CAF Confederation Cup, Nations FC will face FC Diarra from Mali. The Kumasi-based club earned their place in this competition after winning the 2025/26 MTN FA Cup, marking their first qualification for African club football.
The first leg of the tie between Nations FC and FC Diarra will be played in Mali between September 4 and 6, 2026. The return leg in Ghana is set to take place between September 11 and 13, 2026.
Should Nations FC progress, they will meet the winner of the match between ASKO de Kara of Togo and AS Zam of Niger in the second preliminary round.
