Medeama SC defeat Etoile Filante 2-0 in 2026 Nsenkyire Cup
Medeama SC recorded their first win of the 2026 Nsenkyire Cup by beating Etoile Filante 2-0, with goals from Amponsah and Annor.
Medeama SC secured a 2-0 victory over Etoile Filante on Monday afternoon in their second match of the 2026 Nsenkyire Cup. The Ghana Premier League champions responded to their opening 3-1 defeat by Aduana FC with a composed performance that produced a goal in each half.
Medeama established control of the contest and eventually turned that advantage into the opening goal in the 19th minute. Young attacker Dominic Amponsah found the net to put the Yellow and Mauves in front before half-time.
The lead gave Medeama a platform to manage the match after the break. Etoile Filante were unable to level the score, while Medeama continued to dictate much of the play and protect their advantage.
Emmanuel Annor extended the lead in the 65th minute, scoring the second goal that settled the result. The strike gave Medeama greater security and ensured they finished their second appearance in the pre-season competition with a win.
The outcome changes the tone of Medeama’s Nsenkyire Cup campaign after the heavy defeat against Aduana in their first fixture. Their latest performance also provides a positive result as the club continues its preparations for the upcoming football season.
Medeama are preparing for a demanding 2026/27 campaign in which they will pursue domestic trophies. They will also represent Ghana in the CAF Champions League, making the tournament part of their wider build-up under coach Ibrahim Tanko.
With Amponsah and Annor supplying the goals, Medeama now have a clean-sheet victory to add to their pre-season work. The 2-0 result over Etoile Filante is their latest step in preparing the squad for domestic competition and their continental assignment.
