Newcastle United reject Manchester United bid for Lewis Hall

Newcastle United have rejected a formal enquiry from Manchester United for left-back Lewis Hall. The Tyneside club informed the Premier League side that the 21-year-old England international is not for sale.

Manchester United sought defensive reinforcements following the departure of Tyrell Malacia, who left Old Trafford as a free agent. Manager Michael Carrick had identified Hall as his main target to provide long-term cover for veteran Luke Shaw.

The Magpies are unwilling to enter negotiations because they view Hall as an untouchable asset. Newcastle's hierarchy is focused on building a long-term sporting project around a young British core that includes both Hall and right-back Tino Livramento.

Having already lost several influential players during this summer transfer window, Newcastle are reluctant to sanction further high-profile departures. Hall is currently under a long-term contract that keeps him at the club until the summer of 2029.

This rejection forces Manchester United to look for alternative candidates to strengthen their backline. The club must now find new defensive options before the upcoming transfer deadline.
