Osimhen becomes Galatasaray's third-highest foreign scorer in 4-0 win
Victor Osimhen scored twice in Galatasaray’s 4-0 victory over Erzurumspor, taking his tally to 62 goals and third place among the club’s foreign scorers.
Victor Osimhen scored twice as Galatasaray defeated Erzurumspor 4-0, taking his total for the Turkish club to 62 goals in 76 appearances. The Nigeria striker is now Galatasaray’s third-highest scoring foreign player.
Osimhen moved past former Galatasaray forward Milan Baros, who scored 61 goals in 116 matches. The Nigerian reached that mark in his 76th game before adding another goal later in the contest, giving him a 62-goal total after 40 fewer appearances than Baros.
His first goal came after he had already created an opportunity for Yunus Akgün with a run. Osimhen then pressed Erzurumspor’s goalkeeper, won possession and finished into an unguarded net to make it 61 goals and draw level with Baros.
The record-breaking goal followed soon afterwards. Barış supplied the ball over the defence, Gabriel Sara delivered the cross, and Osimhen attacked the delivery to complete his brace and move alone into third place on Galatasaray’s foreign scoring list.
Only two players are now above him in that ranking. Mauro Icardi leads with 77 goals, while Gheorghe Hagi is second on 72. Osimhen is therefore 10 goals behind Hagi and 15 short of Icardi, with 16 assists also recorded during his 76 matches for the Istanbul club.
The milestone comes during Osimhen’s third season in Turkish football, with the 27-year-old continuing to build a significant record at Galatasaray. His two goals also underlined his direct contribution to a 4-0 result, while placing him among the club’s most productive foreign players in considerably fewer matches than the names around him.
