Prince Kwabena Adu scores as Plzen win 3-2 in Czech First League

Prince Kwabena Adu scored as Viktoria Plzen defeated FC Zlin 3-2 in the Czech First League at the Stadion Mesta Plzne. The Ghanaian forward’s goal came in the second half and helped the hosts secure all three points in a closely contested match.

Plzen moved ahead in the sixth minute when Ondrej Kukucka put the ball into his own net. Zlin responded seven minutes later through Stanislav Petruta, who brought the visitors level and kept the game evenly balanced.

The home side restored their advantage shortly before the interval. Christophe Kabongo converted a penalty in the 42nd minute, sending Plzen into the break with a 2-1 lead.

Adu then increased the hosts’ advantage in the 56th minute. He finished from Amar Memic’s assist to make it 3-1, giving Plzen a two-goal cushion and marking the decisive contribution that made the difference in the contest.

Zlin continued to threaten after falling behind and pulled one goal back through Frank Appiah in the 83rd minute. Plzen held firm during the closing stages, despite the visitors’ efforts to find another equaliser. Adu was replaced in the 78th minute after completing his part in the victory.

The result extends Plzen’s strong recent sequence. Before facing Zlin, they had won three of their previous five matches, drawn once and lost once: victories over Tromsø IL twice and Polessya, a draw with Zbrojovka Brno and a defeat by Slovan Liberec. Adding the win over Zlin gives them four victories in their last six matches.
