Ryan Garcia rates Conor Benn's power and skill ahead of title fight

Ryan Garcia has provided his assessment of Conor Benn's capabilities ahead of their upcoming WBC welterweight world title fight. The Californian gave Benn a rating of 5 out of 10 for his power and a 1 out of 10 for his boxing ability.

Garcia is scheduled to defend his WBC title for the first time on September 12 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. He secured the championship in February following a victory over Mario Barrios. This follows a previous unsuccessful attempt to win a title against Rolando Romero in Times Square.

Benn has been named the mandatory challenger for the title. However, he has not competed in the welterweight division for his last five bouts, a period starting in April 2022. His most recent appearance in April against Regis Progais was a performance where he appeared to struggle with the weight class.

During his recent run, the 29-year-old Benn has not recorded any stoppage victories. The upcoming bout will be broadcast on DAZN pay-per-view. The event also features a co-main event between Jai Opetaia and the reigning WBC cruiserweight champion Noel Mikaelian.
