Serrano keeps WBA featherweight crown on 116-112, 116-112, 114-114

Amanda Serrano retained the WBA featherweight championship after beating Lucrecia Anabella Manzur by majority decision in Temecula, California. Two judges scored the fight 116-112 for Serrano, while the third made it 114-114. The result gave the Puerto Rican champion the 50th victory of her professional career.

The bout went the full 12 rounds, with each round lasting two minutes. Manzur made Serrano work throughout the contest, pressing forward and repeatedly looking to force close-range exchanges. The Argentine challenger also attacked the body with combinations as she tried to disrupt the champion’s rhythm.

Serrano responded with the advantages that have defined her championship career. Fighting from a southpaw stance, she used her left hand to locate openings in Manzur’s defence and answered the pressure with strong counters. Those punches gradually reduced the impact of Manzur’s attacks as the fight progressed.

The competitive nature of the contest continued into the closing rounds, when both boxers traded heavily. Manzur remained committed to her forward approach, but Serrano’s composure and experience helped her control the most important exchanges and secure the judges’ decision.

The victory keeps Serrano’s WBA title at the 126-pound featherweight limit. It also adds another significant milestone to the career of the Puerto Rican fighter, who has now reached 50 professional wins while continuing her run as one of women’s boxing’s leading champions.
