Shamusa Najjuma completes URA Ladies move on two-year FUFA WSL deal

Shamusa Najjuma has completed her move from Kampala Queens to FUFA Women Super League newcomers URA Ladies on a two-year contract. The versatile midfielder becomes the latest addition to a club preparing for its first campaign in Uganda’s top women’s league.

Kampala Queens confirmed Najjuma’s departure on Monday, bringing her two-year spell with the reigning FUFA Women Super League champions to an end. URA Ladies announced her arrival later the same day as the club’s first major signing in its planned recruitment drive.

Najjuma leaves Kampala Queens with two winners’ medals from last season. She helped the club secure the 2024/25 FUFA Women Super League title and also played a part in its FUFA Women’s Cup success.

Her arrival gives URA Ladies an experienced player who can operate in midfield and adds a proven winner to a squad entering the competition as a new team. The Tax Collectors are also working to strengthen both their playing group and technical staff ahead of their debut at this level.

The move makes Najjuma the second player to leave Kampala Queens during the current changes around the champions. Catherine Nagadya was the first, departing for Egyptian club Al Ahly.

For URA Ladies, Najjuma’s signing marks an early statement of intent as the club builds its squad for the FUFA Women Super League. For Kampala Queens, it is the loss of a midfielder who contributed to both of last season’s major domestic triumphs.
