Shea Charles completes permanent transfer from Southampton to Fulham

Southampton midfielder Shea Charles has joined Fulham on a permanent deal for a significant fee following his successful stint with the Saints.

During his time at Southampton, the Northern Ireland international made 76 appearances. He scored six goals for the club after arriving from Manchester City in the summer of 2023. His first season with the Saints included a promotion. Following that success, Charles spent his second year gaining experience on loan at Sheffield Wednesday in the Sky Bet Championship.

Charles achieved a personal milestone in 2024 when he became the youngest captain in the history of the Northern Ireland national team at age 21. He also played a notable role in the team's performances under head coach Tonda Eckert last season.

His tenure at Southampton was marked by several important goals. He scored late winning goals against Middlesbrough, Arsenal, and Leicester. Additionally, his long-range goal against Oxford was a nominee for the EFL Goal of the Season award.
