Sir Jim Ratcliffe blocks Marcus Rashford from joining Premier League rivals

Manchester United co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe has placed restrictions on Marcus Rashford's potential moves, preventing him from joining any direct Premier League rivals. The decision aims to stop the 28-year-old from succeeding at a domestic competitor.

While the forward has returned to Carrington for pre-season training after a loan period at Barcelona, his permanent future at Old Trafford is not settled. Ratcliffe intends to reduce the club's wage bill by moving Rashford on, but he will not approve transfers to clubs such as Liverpool, Manchester City, or Arsenal.

These restrictions also apply to loan requests. The club has already rejected interest from Tottenham Hotspur, Aston Villa, and Chelsea.

Senior officials at Manchester United expressed concerns that Rashford could play a decisive role in helping a rival team qualify for the Champions League. The club's leadership views the possibility of such an outcome as embarrassing.

United's management remains focused on managing the player's exit while ensuring he does not strengthen the positions of their immediate league opponents.
