Soludo Backs Iloenyosi for NFF South-East Executive Committee Seat

Anambra governor Chukwuma Soludo has endorsed former Super Eagles defender Chikelue Iloenyosi’s bid for the NFF South-East seat.

Anambra State Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo has endorsed Chikelue Iloenyosi’s campaign for the South-East position on the Nigeria Football Federation Executive Committee. The governor said the region needs stronger representation in the administration of Nigerian football.

Iloenyosi, who leads the Anambra State Football Association, is seeking the seat after declaring his intention to contest earlier this year. Soludo described him as a credible candidate whose experience as a former Super Eagles defender and football administrator could help him represent the South-East effectively.

The governor also pledged the support of the Anambra State Government and its people to Iloenyosi’s campaign. He said the bid should be viewed beyond personal ambition, with the region’s players, clubs, grassroots structures and football officials requiring greater attention within the national setup.

Iloenyosi’s campaign has focused on improving regional representation, developing grassroots football and expanding opportunities for stakeholders across the South-East. His return as chairman of the Anambra FA, achieved without opposition, has further reinforced his standing in the state’s football community.

Soludo pointed to the combination of Iloenyosi’s playing career and administrative experience as a key strength. Iloenyosi competed at the highest level with the national team before moving into football management, where he has continued to work on the development of the game in Anambra.

The endorsement gives Iloenyosi official backing from the Anambra government as he pursues the NFF Executive Committee position. Soludo said the candidate would have the state’s full support in what he presented as a campaign for a stronger South-East voice in Nigerian football administration.
