Southampton complete permanent signing of goalkeeper Daniel Peretz

Southampton have secured the permanent transfer of Daniel Peretz from Bayern Munich on a four-year deal following his successful loan spell.

Southampton have completed the permanent transfer of goalkeeper Daniel Peretz from Bayern Munich. The 25-year-old has signed a four-year contract with the club following a loan period at St Mary’s.

Peretz joined the Saints in January and became a key figure in a defensive unit that went 21 Sky Bet Championship matches without defeat. During that unbeaten run, the goalkeeper played every minute and recorded eight clean sheets. He also featured in the club's run to the Emirates FA Cup semi-finals, where he played against Premier League opposition Fulham, Arsenal, and Manchester City.

In total, Peretz made 26 appearances for Southampton across all competitions last season. He lost only two matches during his time with the club. Before moving to Germany, he made over 100 appearances for Maccabi Tel Aviv. He later moved to Bayern Munich, where he made seven appearances while serving as an understudy to Manuel Neuer.

Daniel Peretz expressed his excitement about the move, noting that the home environment at the club was a deciding factor. He stated that while playing in the Premier League is a dream, his priority is to achieve success with Southampton.

Group Technical Director Johannes Spors noted that the impact Peretz had on the team was evident since his January arrival. Spors confirmed that the club held several discussions with the goalkeeper after the previous season ended to ensure his commitment to the project.
