Southampton U18s beat Birmingham City 3-0 on final day

Southampton Under-18s concluded their Premier League campaign with a 3-0 win against Birmingham City at Staplewood. Jude Daniels scored two goals and Lewis Day added a header to secure the victory for Andrew Surman's side.

The visitors nearly took the lead early in the match when Connor Reilly hit the crossbar following a move down the byline. Southampton responded quickly through Fabio Sainsbury, who first saw a header flashed wide before providing the assist for the opening goal. Sainsbury won possession high up the pitch and played a low ball back for Daniels to curl into the net.

Birmingham struggled to create significant chances for the remainder of the first half. Southampton continued to press after the interval, with Max Little and Lewis Bailey both testing the opposition defense. Birmingham's Juran McKayle nearly scored after being played through one-on-one, but goalkeeper Dylan Moody rushed out to deny the lob.

Southampton doubled their advantage just after the hour mark through a set-piece. Korban McMullan delivered an inswinging corner to the far post, allowing Lewis Day to head the ball into the net. Daniels completed his brace with 20 minutes remaining, sliding home a low cross from Lewis Bailey after McMullan had provided the initial pass.

Lewis Bailey hit the crossbar late in the game, but the three-goal margin remained unchanged. The win ensured Southampton finished the season in seventh place with a five-game unbeaten run.
