Super Falcons earn $60,000 bonus after 6-2 win over Egypt

The Super Falcons earned a $60,000 goal bonus after defeating Egypt 6-2 in their final Group C match of the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations. This payout follows a six-goal performance by the reigning African champions during the fixture.

Before the tournament began, the National Sports Commission (NSC) established a performance incentive of $5,000 for every goal scored, starting from the opening match against Malawi. Following the high-scoring result against Egypt on Wednesday, Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) President Ibrahim Gusau announced that the NSC has doubled this amount.

The reward for each goal has been increased to $10,000 to recognize the team's recent performances and provide motivation for the upcoming knockout rounds. Consequently, the six goals scored in the match against the Cleopatras alone resulted in the $60,000 total.

Nigeria's victory ensures they advance to the quarter-finals alongside Malawi. The nine-time African champions are scheduled to face Cameroon in the quarter-finals this Sunday in Casablanca.

Winning the upcoming match against the Indomitable Lionesses would secure a place in the semi-finals and provide qualification for the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup in Brazil. The Super Falcons are currently pursuing a record-extending 11th WAFCON title.
