Two-weight Cage Warriors champion James Webb announces retirement

Cage Warriors light heavyweight champion James Webb has announced his immediate retirement from professional mixed martial arts. The 36-year-old fighter concluded his career after reaching the milestone of becoming a two-weight world champion.

Webb's championship history includes winning the middleweight title in 2019. He later secured the light heavyweight championship in 2024 following a victory over Andy Clamp at CW 180. His final professional bout took place in the co-main event of CW 188 in Dublin in April 2025, where he defeated UFC veteran John Allan to defend his title.

The fighter's professional journey began in 2017, when he earned his first championship gloves during only his second professional appearance. This early success led to a four-fight winning streak and his initial middleweight title win in 2019. After a second attempt at the 185lbs championship in 2023, he moved up in weight to complete his goal of winning titles in two different divisions.

Webb also headlined the inaugural Cage Warriors event in Colchester in 2018. He leaves the promotion as a multiple-time title challenger and a two-weight world champion.
