Uganda guaranteed netball gold and silver at 2026 FEASSA Games
St Mary’s Kitende and Hamdan Islamic will contest the 2026 FEASSA Games netball final, ensuring Uganda takes both top medals.
Uganda are guaranteed both gold and silver in netball at the 23rd FEASSA Games after St Mary’s Kitende and Hamdan Islamic School reached the final. The decisive match is scheduled for Friday, 21 August 2026, at the Highlands Sports Complex in Morogoro, Tanzania.
Kitende secured its place in the final by defeating fellow Ugandan school St Noa Girls Zana 48-32 in the first semi-final on Wednesday. That result set up an all-Ugandan title match and ensured that the competition’s top two netball medals will return to Uganda.
Hamdan Islamic will provide the opposition in the final, with the two schools meeting for the championship at the conclusion of a three-match netball programme. The other medal match will see St Noa Girls Zana face Kenya’s Bukokholo for bronze.
The remaining netball fixture will decide fifth and sixth place. Uganda’s Light College Katikamu will meet Tanzania’s Mkolani after Light College defeated Vwawa of Tanzania 54-32 and Mkolani beat Kenya’s Andersen 45-40 in the classification games.
The 2026 FEASSA Games have brought together school teams from Tanzania, Uganda, Rwanda, Kenya and Burundi. Tanzania is hosting the 23rd edition in Morogoro, with competition taking place across a wide range of sports.
Alongside netball, the programme includes handball, basketball in 3x3 and 5x5 formats, rugby sevens and 15s, beach soccer, baseball and softball, cricket, lawn tennis, lacrosse, volleyball and hockey. Badminton, table tennis, chess, swimming and goalball are among the indoor events, adding to the multi-sport schedule as Uganda’s netball finalists prepare for the gold-medal contest.
