Viking FK reject West Ham United's €9.1m bid for Edvin Austbø

Viking FK have rejected a €9.1m bid from West Ham United for Norwegian forward Edvin Austbø. The offer, worth approximately NKK 100m, was submitted by the London club over the weekend.

Austbø is a product of the Viking FK academy and made his professional debut in 2022. The 21-year-old Norway U21 international has recorded four goals and one assist in 14 appearances this season. His current market value is estimated at €9m, and he remains under contract with the Stavanger-based club until December 2028.

Viking FK are reluctant to sell the player at this stage. The club is focused on their upcoming Champions League qualifiers, which are scheduled to take place later this month. The identity of their next opponent is currently unknown.

West Ham United have been active in the transfer market, having recently sold Crysencio Summerville to Al-Hilal and completed the permanent signing of Manor Solomon from Tottenham Hotspur. Despite these moves, the club has continued its pursuit of the Norwegian player.

There are currently no plans for further negotiations between West Ham and Viking FK. It remains uncertain if the English side will submit an improved proposal. Any potential movement regarding the player may be delayed until after the second leg of the Champions League qualifying matches on August 25 or 26.
