Aduana FC face financial penalty after Nsenkyire Cup walk-off

Aduana FC abandoned their Nsenkyire Cup match against Etoile Filante at half-time on Saturday after protesting against the refereeing. The walk-off ended the pre-season fixture at Nsenkyire Arena before the second half could begin.

Head coach Samuel Boadu took the Aduana players off the pitch at the interval after expressing dissatisfaction with decisions made during the match. Club officials and tournament organisers attempted to convince the team to return, but the players and technical staff did not change their position.

The action appears to conflict with the rules of the Nsenkyire Cup. Aduana are therefore expected to lose their financial entitlement from the competition, while the organisers may impose additional sanctions if they conclude that the club breached the tournament regulations.

The abandoned fixture formed part of Aduana’s preparations for the new football season. The Nsenkyire Cup was intended to give the participating teams competitive minutes before the campaign begins, but the incident has instead become the main issue surrounding the Fire Club’s involvement.

Aduana finished at the bottom of the tournament standings after the competition concluded at Sambreboi on Sunday. Etoile Filante, the Togolese side involved in the abandoned match, went on to win the cup.

The result leaves Aduana facing both a poor finish in the pre-season tournament and the possibility of disciplinary action. The final response will depend on the organisers’ assessment of the walk-off and the penalties allowed under the competition’s regulations.
