Aduana FC overcome Young Apostles 2-1 in Sompa Invitational Cup

Aduana FC secured a 2-1 comeback victory against Young Apostles on Wednesday. The match took place at the Sunyani Coronation Park as the second edition of the Sompa Invitational Cup commenced.

The first half of the encounter remained scoreless as neither side could find a breakthrough. The teams went into the halftime break on level terms after 45 minutes of play.

Young Apostles exerted pressure early in the second half. Just one minute after the restart, they took the lead through a penalty kick, putting Aduana FC in a position where they had to chase the game.

Aduana FC responded to the deficit almost immediately. Five minutes after conceding, Stephen Amankona restored parity by converting a penalty in the 50th minute of the match.

The game remained balanced until the final moments of regulation time. Prince Otubua scored a goal during injury time to complete the comeback and secure all three points for Aduana FC.

This result provides Aduana FC with an important boost at the start of the competition. The victory will provide the squad with confidence as they prepare for their second fixture in the tournament.

The Sompa Invitational Cup runs until August 16 at the Sunyani Coronation Park. Alongside Aduana FC and Young Apostles, the tournament features Bechem United, Karela United, Berekum Chelsea, and Bec-Tero Sasana.
