Asante Kotoko and striker Isaac Mintah mutually part ways

Asante Kotoko and striker Isaac Mintah have mutually agreed to end their professional relationship. The decision comes as the Kumasi-based club prepares for the upcoming football season.

The 27-year-old forward joined the Porcupine Warriors in January 2025. He arrived at the club on a two-and-a-half-year contract following a period playing in Libya with Al Ahli.

Mintah had previously moved to Al Ahli after a successful period with Aduana FC, where his form had attracted interest from international clubs. His time in Libya was unsuccessful, which led to his return to the Ghanaian league and his subsequent signing with Kotoko.

The club originally signed the attacker to bolster their offensive options and provide more goals. However, his tenure with the Porcupine Warriors has concluded early through this mutual termination.

Mintah is now a free agent and is able to negotiate with new clubs before the start of the next campaign. He will look to find a new team to continue his career.

This departure is part of a wider squad restructuring at Asante Kotoko. The club is expected to make more changes to its playing personnel before the transfer window closes.
