Asante Kotoko close in on Ivorian defender Koffi Ange Bini

Asante Kotoko are on the verge of completing the transfer of Ivorian centre-back Koffi Marius Ange Bini. The club is working to strengthen its defensive unit as preparations for the 2026/27 season continue.

The 24-year-old defender arrives with a diverse playing history across several different countries. Bini most recently played in the Belarusian Premier League for FK Smorgon, where he made three league appearances after joining the club in March 2025.

Before his time in Belarus, the Ivorian defender gained experience in the Philippines with Maharlika Manila and United City FC. His career has also included stints in Kuwait and Oman, having played for clubs such as Al-Jahra, Al-Talaba, Al-Rustaq, and Al-Taqadom.

Bini has already been integrated into the squad's current activities, appearing in the traveling group for Asante Kotoko's pre-season tour in Accra. His inclusion alongside other defenders highlights the club's focus on reinforcing the backline.

The move is part of a wider squad rebuilding process led by head coach Eric Tinkler. Kotoko are looking to improve their defensive stability following a difficult 2025/26 campaign.

By adding Bini, the Porcupine Warriors aim to utilize his physical presence and aerial ability in the Ghana Premier League. The signing represents a significant step in the club's efforts to reshape the team for the upcoming season.
