Asante Kotoko players lucky to be in squad, says Board Chairman

Asante Kotoko board chairman James Osei Brown has stated that the players currently in the club's pre-season camp in Accra are fortunate to have earned their spots. He made these comments during a visit to the team alongside board and management members as the club prepares for the upcoming season.

The club is currently undergoing a major squad restructuring following a disappointing eighth-place finish in the Ghana Premier League last season. This process has left the futures of several players uncertain, with many being left behind in Kumasi while the technical team continues its assessments.

Brown noted that the club has intentionally recruited new players to address specific deficiencies identified during the previous campaign. He explained that the new arrivals were brought in to provide qualities such as discipline and tactical improvements that the squad lacked last year.

Addressing both the returning players and the new signings, the chairman urged them to appreciate the opportunity they have been given. He remarked that anyone who finds themselves among the current group of players is very lucky.

This period of transition follows a season where the club seeks to strengthen its roster to ensure a better performance in the new league campaign. The restructuring aims to build a more capable team through the combination of retained staff and new talent brought in from different locations.
