Asogli XI beat Accra Best Dreams Academy 3-0 for Te Za trophy

Asogli XI won the Asogli Te Za football trophy with a 3-0 victory over Accra Best Dreams Academy at the Ho Sports Stadium on Sunday, August 16. The hosts took control before the interval and completed a convincing success after the break.

Captain Enam Adala opened the scoring in the 36th minute, giving Asogli XI the advantage in front of the visiting academy side. Harrison Hini then struck eight minutes later to send the hosts into half-time with a two-goal lead.

The result left Accra Best Dreams Academy facing a difficult second half, while Asogli XI had the cushion needed to manage the game. The hosts added a third goal midway through the second period when Nestor Dotse finished with his right foot from inside the goal area.

Dotse’s effort completed the scoring and secured the trophy for Asogli XI. Goalkeeper Nurudeen Mohamed was unable to prevent the shot, which put the outcome beyond the academy side.

The match also marked the formal launch of the Bright Senyo Dey Foundation, which sponsored the fixture. The foundation’s secretary, Maxwell Buaka, said it intended to organise gala competitions every year as part of the Te Za celebrations.

Those competitions are planned as a way to discover young footballers and support their ambitions of pursuing professional careers. Buaka also said the foundation would provide assistance in education and vocational training, extending its work beyond football development.

The foundation further plans to support people with disabilities in pursuing their career goals. Its launch therefore accompanied a football event that combined Asogli XI’s trophy success with plans for continued youth and community support.
