Bernard Mensah rejoins Al Riyadh after Al-Nasr stint

Ghanaian midfielder Bernard Mensah has returned to Al Riyadh. The Saudi Pro League club confirmed the player's comeback through a social media announcement, stating that Mensah is once again wearing the club's shirt.

The 31-year-old midfielder moves back to the side after a spell with Al-Nasr. Mensah had originally joined Al-Nasr in August 2025 on a contract that was intended to last until June 2027.

During his previous tenure with Al Riyadh in the 2024-25 season, Mensah made 29 league appearances and scored five goals. The club expects his presence to provide immediate creativity and a scoring threat to the squad.

Mensah's career includes significant time in Portugal, where he played for Vitoria Guimaraes between 2014 and 2016. During that period, he recorded six goals in over 60 appearances. While Atletico Madrid signed him in 2015 on a six-year contract, he spent his time there on loan at Getafe, Vitoria Guimaraes, and Kasimpasa.

In Turkey, the midfielder was a prominent player for Kayserispor, netting 15 league goals across 82 matches. He also secured silverware during a loan spell at Besiktas in the 2020-21 season, winning both the Turkish Cup and the Super Lig title.

His most successful period in Saudi football occurred during the 2023-24 campaign with Al-Tai, where he scored 14 league goals. He now returns to Al Riyadh to utilize that top-flight experience.
