Black Princesses begin 2026 U-20 Women's World Cup against Ecuador

Ghana will face Ecuador on September 6 before meeting South Korea and France in Group C at the 2026 U-20 Women's World Cup.

Ghana’s Black Princesses will begin their 2026 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup campaign against Ecuador on Sunday, September 6. The Group C match will be played at the Arena Sosnowiec.

The fixture will mark Ghana’s first match at the biennial tournament, with the team set to start their latest campaign against Ecuador. The Black Princesses will remain at the Arena Sosnowiec for their final two group matches.

Ghana’s second Group C game is scheduled for Wednesday, September 9, against South Korea. They will then complete the group phase against France on September 12, also at the Arena Sosnowiec.

The Black Princesses are entering the competition for the eighth consecutive time. Their continued presence at the tournament gives them another opportunity to improve on a record that has so far not included progress beyond the group stage.

Ghana have never made it past the opening phase of the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup. Their 2026 schedule therefore places immediate importance on the three Group C fixtures, beginning with the meeting with Ecuador.

The group campaign will be completed within six days, from the opening match on September 6 to the game against France on September 12. Ghana’s route through the tournament will be determined by those three fixtures in Sosnowiec.
