Black Princesses face Sleza Wroclaw in 2026 World Cup friendly

Ghana’s Black Princesses will play Polish club Sleza Wroclaw in their first international friendly ahead of the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup. The match is scheduled for Tuesday, August 25, 2026, in Wroclaw, Poland.

The fixture will begin at 14:00 GMT at Stadion Sportowy Olawka. It will be played without spectators as Ghana’s under-20 women’s team continues its preparations for the global tournament.

Sleza Wroclaw compete in the Orlen Ekstraliga Kobiet, Poland’s top women’s league. The meeting will give Ghana an opportunity to test itself against domestic-league opposition during the team’s time in Poland.

Black Princesses head coach Charles Sampson will use the game to examine his squad ahead of the World Cup. The friendly is also intended to help the team improve its understanding on the pitch and develop its tactical approach.

Ghana are preparing to make an eighth consecutive appearance at the biennial FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup. Despite their regular presence at the tournament, the Black Princesses have not yet progressed beyond the group stage.

The trip to Wroclaw therefore forms part of Ghana’s effort to prepare for another attempt to reach the next round. The closed-door fixture against Sleza provides Sampson with a match setting in which to assess the squad and continue building the team before the competition begins.
