Ghana forward Benjamin Tetteh emerges as Kalba FC transfer target

UAE Pro League club Kalba FC have identified Ghana forward Benjamin Tetteh as a target during the current summer transfer window. Tetteh is contracted to Slovenian side NK Maribor, where his form last season has attracted interest from the Emirati club.

The 29-year-old scored 12 goals in the 2025/26 campaign and finished as the leading scorer in Slovenia’s Prva Liga. That return established him as one of Maribor’s most important attacking players and provided the basis for Kalba’s interest.

Tetteh has not played for Maribor this season, however, with the Slovenian club having completed six matches. His absence comes after he made his return to the club permanent in 2025, following an earlier loan spell from French side FC Metz.

The striker initially joined Maribor on loan for the 2024/25 season. He went back to Metz after that campaign before completing a permanent move to Slovenia in 2025. His Maribor contract is due to remain in place until the end of May 2027, while his listed market value is €900,000.

A transfer to Kalba would take Tetteh into another league during a European career that began at Standard Liege after he left Ghanaian club Dreams FC. He has also represented Bohemians 1905, Sparta Prague, Yeni Malatyaspor, Hull City and Metz.

Tetteh has won domestic cup honours in two countries. He lifted the Belgian Cup with Standard Liege and later claimed the Czech Cup with Sparta Prague. His scoring record at Maribor has now placed him on Kalba’s list of possible additions for the current window.
