Bournemouth’s Rayan rejects Al-Hilal approach and chooses Europe
Bournemouth winger Rayan has turned down Al-Hilal’s approach and wants to continue his career in Europe, preferably in England.
Bournemouth’s 19-year-old Brazilian winger Rayan has rejected an approach from Al-Hilal and made clear that he does not want to leave the Premier League club. The Saudi side had identified him as their preferred replacement for Malcom, but their attempt to begin negotiations ended quickly.
Al-Hilal contacted Rayan to discuss a possible move, but the player himself closed off the proposal. He intends to remain with Bournemouth and continue his development in Europe rather than move to the Middle East at this stage of his career.
Rayan’s preference is specifically to stay in England, where he has already attracted interest from several major clubs. Liverpool, Arsenal and Manchester United are among the sides linked with him in recent months, alongside other European teams.
The decision removes Rayan from Al-Hilal’s plans for the attacking position. The club had made him their first choice to fill the expected vacancy created by Malcom, who is negotiating an early termination of his contract in Riyadh.
Malcom’s agreement with Al-Hilal is due to run until the middle of 2027, but discussions over an earlier departure are now at an advanced stage. With his exit drawing closer, Al-Hilal have started examining alternative targets instead of continuing their pursuit of Rayan.
Aston Villa forward Ollie Watkins has emerged as another option for the Saudi club. For Bournemouth, however, the immediate concern over Rayan’s possible departure has ended, with the youngster’s stated intention being to remain at the Cherries and build his career in Europe.
