Boxing: Amanda Serrano reaches 50 wins on 114-114, 116-112 x2
Amanda Serrano secured the 50th win of her career by majority decision over Lucrecia Manzur, retaining her WBA, WBO and Ring titles.
Amanda Serrano reached the 50-win mark by defeating Lucrecia Manzur on points, earning a majority decision scored 114-114, 116-112 and 116-112. The result allowed Serrano to retain her WBA, WBO and The Ring featherweight titles.
The Puerto Rican champion improved her professional record to 50-4-1, including 32 victories inside the distance. Manzur, Argentina’s No. 2 contender in the WBO rankings, left the contest with a 14-5 record and seven knockouts.
The 126-pound main event took place at Pechanga Resort Casino in Temecula, California. It was the first championship boxing event shown live on TikTok and also the first unified women’s world title fight contested over 12 two-minute rounds.
Manzur maintained forward pressure throughout the fight and produced her strongest spell in the fourth round, when she backed Serrano towards the ropes and attacked in close. Serrano answered with body punches and precise counters as she worked to regain control.
The competitive action continued until the final bell, with Serrano building momentum in the closing stages. The decision gave the 50-year? No, can't invent. Need fix. The milestone victory kept Serrano as the unified featherweight champion while Manzur was unable to convert her mandatory-contender position into a world title.
