C2E Sports Academy reach NWFL Nationwide 2026 final with 4-2 win
C2E Sports Academy overturned two deficits to beat Kwara United Queens 4-2 at Enyimba Stadium and become the first NWFL Nationwide 2026 finalists.
C2E Sports Academy overturned two deficits to defeat Kwara United Queens 4-2 at Enyimba Stadium, Aba, on Friday and secure the first place in the NWFL Nationwide 2026 final. The academy side recovered from falling behind in both halves before finishing the semi-final with four goals.
Kwara United Queens made the faster start and went ahead in the third minute. Oluwabunkunmi Azeez took advantage of the early opening to give her team a 1-0 lead, leaving C2E to chase the game for most of the opening period.
C2E eventually drew level in first-half stoppage time when Omobolanle Abdulganiu put the ball into her own net. The equaliser sent the teams into the interval at 1-1, but Kwara United regained control soon after the restart.
Amarachi Nnorom restored Kwara United’s advantage in the 47th minute, putting C2E behind for a second time. The response was immediate, with Chidinma Gideon scoring five minutes later to make it 2-2 and renew C2E’s hopes of reaching the final.
The decisive turn came in the 74th minute. Taiwo Omoniyi’s own goal put C2E in front for the first time, and the academy side held that lead while Kwara United searched for another equaliser. Agnes Ohuche then settled the contest with a goal in the 87th minute, completing the 4-2 scoreline.
The result sends C2E into the NWFL Nationwide 2026 final as the competition’s first confirmed finalist. Their scoring record has been central to that run: they have produced 19 goals in three matches, including a 10-1 victory over Bayelsa Princesses and a 5-0 win against Lakeside Queens.
That attacking output now sits alongside their semi-final resilience. C2E scored four times after twice trailing Kwara United, while the late goal from Ohuche ensured their comeback ended with a place in the final at Enyimba Stadium, Aba.
